A common mistake throughout many levels of pickleball is not being ready at the kitchen for counter shots. A lot of times when you're in control of a point and have a ball that you aggressively hit, players won't usually anticipate the opponent to return the shot with a hard aggressive counter.

In the video above, if I was ready and anticipating my opponent to counter my first aggressive shot, then I most likely would have won the point.

A few other tips at the kitchen is to always be in a ready position. The ready position has several elements to it such as hand placement, stance, and body positioning. Having your knees bent and being in a strong stable base will help your game drastically. This is because this enhances your bodies balance which ultimately will help you have more control for your shots.

Our TEMPO paddle is great for play at the kitchen because it has a long 6 inch handle which makes you not have to reach as far during dink battles. The less you reach, the more balance and stability you'll have. Be more aware at the net and expect the unexpected to be ready for anything your opponent throws your way.
